JOHN THOMAS (TOM) STOBART 1918 - 2007 With great sadness, our family announces the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Tom passed peacefully on May 14, 2007 at the Health Sciences Centre with his family by his side. Tom is survived by Irene, his loving wife of 62 years; sons, Jack (Gail), Rick (Sheila); daughter Susan (Wayne); grandchildren, John, Mike, Andrew, Mark and Nicole and great-grandson Hudson. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Rita (Erick) and Shirl (Lionel); cousins, Jean, Kay and Ruthie; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Margaret; father John; brother Jim and sister Anne. Tom was born October 16, 1918 and spent his entire life in Winnipeg. He served his country during the Second World War in the RCAF from 1941 to 1945 as an air frame mechanic. Tom was a talented cabinet maker and worked for over 30 years at Bristol Aerospace. He married his beloved I in 1945 after the war ended and they were blessed to spend almost 62 wonderful years together. Tom and Irene loved to travel. There are many memories of family vacations together and in their retirement, Tom and Irene enjoyed some wonderful cruises. Tom was so proud of his family and loved it when we could all share special times together. He loved us all so much and we will miss his keen sense of humour, his frequent reminiscences, his strong sense of values and his incredible love of family. Interment has already taken place. A special celebration of his life will take place at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., on June 1, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. The family would like to thank the fire and paramedic services and the emergency hospital staff and doctors of Health Sciences Centre for their kindnesses. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Variety the Children's Charity of Manitoba, 611 Wellington Cres., or a charity of your choice. We will always love you Dad. And don't forget... Now that you know where we live, drop by more often. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200 www.nbardal.mb.ca
