RANDVER WILLIAM SIGURDSON August 30, 1940 May 13, 2007 Randy passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 13, 2007. Randy was born in Winnipeg to Maude Francis Moore and Randver W. Sigurdson. He grew up in the West End in the 1940s and 1950s. As a typical West End boy he was enthusiastic about competitive sports and played various positions for the Daniel McIntyre Maroons in the late 1950s. He bought his first car for two beers and a quarter and proceeded to own more rolling stock than GM over the years. A lot happened at D.M.C.I., notably the courtship with Joan which resulted in a 44 year marriage and two children, Randy Jr. in 1969 and Trinity in 1973. Randy was a social event organizer and put together some great fun events for the whole school. Randy enjoyed camping, fishing and cottage life at Rabbit Lake in Kenora. He spent his summers growing up with his sister June's boys. Randy had a long career in sales and loved it. He started selling sporting goods at Sears. He moved on to sell furniture at Eaton's and then Penthouse Furniture. He then left the retail side of the business and worked as an independent furniture representative travelling in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and North West Ontario. He was very good at whatever he did. Missed by his loving wife Joan, his son Randy and daughter Trinity, son-in-law Stan and grandchildren, Isabella and Lucy who were the light of his life. He is also missed by his sisters, June and Jackie and their families, and his sisters-in-law, Violet and Maureen (and family). A service of remembrance will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook St. with interment at Brookside Cemetery at a later date. A donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in lieu of flowers if anyone so wishes. BARDAL FUNERAL HOME 843 Sherbrook Street 774-7474 Condolences: www.bardal.ca Ample parking behind Funeral Home
