M.W.O. DANIEL GEOFFREY JONES On May 15, 2007, Daniel passed away at the age of 76, at the Betel Personal Care Home, Selkirk, MB. He leaves to mourn his wife Beatrice; daughters, Betty (Ted), Cathy (Darryl); son Daniel (Gwen); and grandchildren, David (Stacey), Sarah, Scott and Jeremy. He is survived by brothers, Charles (Doris), Ron (Mary), John (Diane), Kenneth (Jackie); and sisters, Patricia (LeRoy) and Marjorie (Tom). He was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Monica, brother Bert and sisters, Margaret, Peggy and Jean. Dan served 29 years with the Canadian Armed Forces and retired in 1981. His love of aviation and exploration led him to a wonderful second career in the Northwest Territories, where he established many lifelong friendships. Dan enjoyed rebuilding and collecting antique aeroplanes, and remained active in the commercial aircraft maintenance industry until his second retirement in 2001. The family would like to thank the exceptional staff at Betel Personal Care Home for the unending care, friendship and support during a very difficult time. A most heartfelt thank you is extended to personal care provider Leslie Benson for her warmth, understanding, and continuing support. Cremation has taken place and a private service and reception will be held later this summer. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, Manitoba in care of arrangements.
