Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPAUL KENWAY September 1, 1914 - May 14, 2007 Paul said goodbye to his family and friends at the age of 92 so he could fulfill his lifelong dream of meeting the Lord face to face. He was a faithful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Born in Exeter, England on September 1, 1914, son of Bernard and Margaret Kenway, Paul was the seventh child in a family of nine. The Kenway family immigrated in 1919 to Austin, MB and later settled with his family in Winnipeg seven years later. He established lifetime friendships with Reg and Denise Walton, George Poitras, and Claire Benoit. He served with the Queen's Own Cameron Highland Light Infantry in the Second World War and was stationed in England where he met his wife Sheila. They returned to Canada in 1946 and settled in Winnipeg, summering at Falcon Lake, until 1968 when Deloitte's transferred Paul to their Prince George office as managing partner. He retired from Deloitte's as an FCA in 1979 and the ICABC in 1994. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Winnipeg and Prince George, a tireless volunteer for St. Vincent de Paul as well as involved with obtaining financing for Fort George Manor's senior apartments on Gorse Street. He lived his life by example believing actions spoke louder than words and brought much strength and steadfastness into other's lives. Paul took great pride in the professional accomplishments of his sons, Bruce and Ian who followed in their father's footsteps, and enjoyed having his daughter Laura and son Andy live in close proximity to him. He attributed his long life to his post retirement land development activities in the Prince George area, his daily workouts at the YMCA and daily Mass attendance. Predeceased by his parents, his brother Joseph, his six sisters, Sr. Margherita Mary, Eileen Audcent, Rita Brignole, Hilda Carney, Ruth Cooney, Sr. Judith Anne and his son Andrew. Paul is survived by his life long companion and wife Sheila (nee Wortley), his sons, Bruce and his family, Marcy, Samantha (husband Frank Magdich, Frankie and Amelia) and Paul (wife Nancy) (Calgary) and Ian and his family, Erla, Steven, Brent and Scott (Doha, Qatar) and his daughter Laura (Cluculz Lake) who will miss his advice and friendship dearly, Andrew's children (Sean, Stacy, AJ and Stephanie), his sister Judy McGibbon (Winnipeg), and numerous nieces and nephews across Canada. The family would like to thank the management and staff of the Prince George Chateau who provided him a loving home environment in his final years, and to Dr. Grobbelaar and his staff for their excellent care and home visits. We also send heartfelt thanks to the Rotary Hospice staff. Prayer service and visitation will be held on Monday, May 21 at 7:00 p.m. from St. Mary's Parish (1088 Gillett Street, Prince George). The funeral mass celebrating Paul's life will follow at St. Mary's Parish on Tuesday, May 22, at 1:00 p.m. with Father Richard Beaudette, O.M.I. presiding.
