MARY ANNA MAE AYRES (nee SCARROW) Mary Anna Mae Ayres (nee Scarrow) was born July 7, 1925 in Hamilton, ON. She passed away peacefully May 10, 2007 in her 81st year at Bastion Place Special Care Facility in Salmon Arm, BC with family present. Mary had been in ill health for five years with cancer and respiratory disease. Mary had many friends and relatives across Canada. She was well known as a golfer, curler, downhill skier and loved all sports. She was fun to be with and made friends all of her life. Mary and Bob were married for 62 years, they met in the Second World War Canadian Air Force while both were in the service. Post-war, Bob served 30 years in the RCAF with Mary and their family, following wherever it took them, ten years in Europe and three in U.S.A. Mary and family had a good life and travelled extensively. The retired to their home in Blind Bay, BC 18 years ago at Shuswap Lake Estates. A Celebration of Mary's life will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2007, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at Shuswap Lake Estates , Log'N Hearth, 2404 Centennial Drive, Blind, BC V0E 1H0. In lieu of flowers, friends and family may make memorial donations in Mary's name to a charity of your choice or to the Cancer Research Foundation, 399 Royal Avenue, Kelowna, BC V1Y 5L3.
