Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALICE ERNA OTERHOLM (nee KACH) January 30, 1911 May 15, 2007 On May 15, 2007 at Golden Door Geriatric Centre, Alice passed away at the age of 96. Alice will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 71 years Ingvar; daughters, Ruth Hazell (Bob), Irene and Udita; surviving sisters, Rose Zurich (George), Gladys Hilderman (Godfrey) and brother Hans; grandchildren, Nissa (Bob), Nadine and Eden; great-grand-children, Kiara, Kyla and Trey, also numerous nieces and nephews. Alice was born and raised on her family farm in Saskatchewan and later moved to Winnipeg where she met and married Ingvar in 1936. Alice was of strong character, conviction and dedication in everything she undertook, enjoying life to the fullest. Alice is remembered for her achievements in golf and curling. She was past president of Manitoba Ladies Curling Association, an active member of St. Boniface Golf Club and Heather Curling Club, winning many trophies and prizes including the first Manitoba Senior Ladies Curling Championship and others too numerous to mention. Many summers were spent at Caddy Lake where she enjoyed gardening especially her roses and keeping her eye on her fishing line. Alice and Ingvar lived in Winnipeg until their retirement then spent many years travelling. They resided in Mesa, Arizona and Cobble Hill, BC, returning back to Winnipeg for their remaining years. Thank you to the staff of Golden Door Geriatric Centre for their care and attention to Alice. A family memorial service was held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 18 in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald St. Mom, whack those golf balls and keep throwing those curling rocks The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E.J.
