Malcolm Young, sister of Doreen Dennehy of Winnipeg and the late Maxwell Grant of Halifax, mother of Cecilia Ignatieff, Robin Mason, Deborah Sgardello and Eden Anderson (Frank), grandmother of Nicholas and Natalia, Quentin and Lydia, Vita and Sebastian, Nathaniel, Carlisle and Lachlan and great-grandmother of five children. Rosalind and her first husband, John Beresford Anderson, were residents of Centre Street West, Richmond Hill from 1945 to 1999. Ros returned to her birthplace, Winnipeg, upon her marriage to Mac Young, spending summers at Victoria Beach, MB. In 2004, they moved to Cobourg, ON in order to be closer to Ros' family. Rosalind had a lifelong love of music and taught hundreds of students, including her own daughters, two of whom have pursued music as a career. She completed her education (having been valedictorian of her high school graduation in East Kildonan) as a mature student, graduating with a B.A. in Literature. She was an active volunteer for the McMichael Gallery and Roy Thomson Hall. She was an enthusiastic member of Richmond Hill's Curtain Club and a creative and passionate gardener. After a short hospitalization, Rosalind died peacefully on May 16, 2007. Memorial Visitation is at MacCoubrey Funeral Home, 30 King St. East, Cobourg, Tuesday, May 22, at 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be at St. John's York Mills Anglican Church, 19 Don Ridge Drive, Toronto, Friday May 25 at 2:00 p.m.
