Born: Sep 06, 1932
Date of Passing: May 18, 2007
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWANDA TOOLE (nee PODRUCKI) Peacefully and with dignity and grace mom left us to go home on May 18, with her children Allan and Laura at her bedside. She chose to be at her precious cottage for the final chapter of her life after a courageous battle with cancer. Left to honor and cherish her memory is her darling sister Sylvia Bydak and brother-in-law Bob; children, Rob (June), Benjamin, Danny (Nicole), and Jeffery (Lucille). Son Allan Toole; daughter Laura English; son-in-law Bob, and granddaughters, Jessy, and Emily who loved their granma beyond description, son Paddy Toole (Elaine). Wanda was born at home in Rackham, MB on September 6, 1932. She married her late husband Frank Joseph Toole III in 1957. Mom had a natural ability for drafting and design and created the blueprints for her first home on Carlaw Ave, the family cottage at Spruce Bay, as well as numerous others. She was known for her delicious cooking and baking as her granddaughters often said, No one can make borscht like my granma. A housekeeper extrodinaire, green thumb gardener, and diligent worker mom always did things with excellence, and taught her family, Anything worth doing, is worth doing well. Special gratitude and appreciation beyond words, Laura and Allan thank mom's only sibling Sylvia and her husband Bob who were ever present and supportive daily through the best of days to the darkest of times. Sylvia brought sunshine and smiles, as well as mom's favorite foods to the hospital, and Auntie Syl and Uncle Bob were an anchor for Laura and Allan Special thanks to Dr. Jacqui Montoedi, and each and everyone who cared for mom from the thoughtful Cleaning Staff, loving Health Care Aides, to the caring Nursing Staff. Additionally thank you to each of you who took the time out of your day to visit mom, she truly enjoyed the pleasure of your company. Mom's deep desire to be at home for her passing was only possible because of two very compassionate and caring nurses who live and work far beyond anyone's expectations. Shannon Pyziak- Regional Palliative Care Co-Ordinator, and Georgina Ball, Home Care Case Co-Ordinator. God bless you both! The only nurse who would travel from Winnipeg to support and give respite for us in final days of mom's life was Faith who was so loving with the level of professionalism every nurse strives to achieve. Thank you so much! Celebration of Wanda's life will be on Friday, May 25, with a private family gathering which includes her special friends who were also an extension of mom's family, and will be contacted personally. In lieu of flowers a donations would be greatly appreciated to North East Palliative Care, c/o S. Pyziak, so other's may be assisted if they also wish to be at home in their final journey. Please mail donations to Box 119, Fisher Branch, ROC OZO. Your donation will be used to support families in the direct area that mom loved so much. As mom's nurse Faith wrote on her final line of charting, May her soul rest in perfect peace. Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli in care of arrangements.

Dear Mrs. Toole, Sadly I just found your obit today. I was a friend of Allan`s many years ago. You gave us kids a ton of good advice but as typical teenagers we weren`t paying attention. I do remember it now in detail as I look back and see that I screwed up at just about every turn in life you told us to look out for. Thank you for caring for us as kids and putting up with our stupid antics. Your one saying about schooling has clung to me all my life and has rung true so many times, they do not teach intelligence in university so beware of the many fools out there with diplomas. God Bless you. - Posted by: Dennis Merber (Friend) on: Mar 02, 2021
