Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDAVID THOMAS HELMLE Suddenly on May 20, 2007, at Lakeridge Health - Oshawa at the age of 83. Mr. Helmle worked for Nelson River Construction from 1948 until retirement in 1989. Proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 38 years. Served as a private in the Canadian Army from 1940 to 1945. Mr. Helmle moved to Winnipeg in 1952 and began his family where he lived until 2005, when he moved to Whitby, Ontario, to be closer to his family. Will be sadly missed by his loving wife Helen Helmle of 55 years. Adored by his children, Marilyn (Barry) Hogan, Duane Helmle and Randy (Carlene) Helmle; cherished grandchildren, Charity (Craig), Kristi, Darcy, Darrell, Tom, Catherine and Ronnie. Loving great-grandfather to Jeffery, Matthew and Jessie. Mr. Helmle is survived by three sisters, Agnes, Helen and Verna. He was predeceased by son Darrell; granddaughter Cindy; four brothers, Frank, Art, Robert, Ed; and one sister Theresa. Family and friends may call at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234), for visitation on Friday, May 25, 2007, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service in the Chapel at 3:00 p.m. Legion service to be held at 2:45 p.m. on Friday, May 25. Future services will be held at a later date in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Memorial donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
