NELLIE STRATYCHUK Nellie Minnie Stratychuk passed away at the Grace Hospital on Saturday, May 19, 2007. Nellie is survived by her brother Anatole and his wife, Joyce, of Victoria, BC and her sister-in-law, Mayme Stratychuk of Winnipeg Beach. She was predeceased by her father, the Very Reverend Dmetro Stratychuk, her mother Sophie, her brother Orest and her sister Lucy. Nellie was born in Hampton, Saskatchewan on November 24, 1924. She attended schools in various towns where her father had parishes. In 1949 she moved to Winnipeg and for 41 years was employed by the provincial government in the office of the Public Trustee, Justice Department. In 1997 she was elected to the Board of Directors of the Ukrainian Voice, and continued with this voluntary work almost to the time she passed away. Nellie was a long time member of the Holy Trinity Orthodox Cathedral. Prayers will be said at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, on Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 24, at Ukrainian Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, 1175 Main Street at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens.
