MARY CATHERINE IRENE FRASER (MCLEAN) Passed away at the Norfolk General Hospital, on Tuesday, May 22, 2007. Mary Catherine Irene Fraser (McLean) of Simcoe in her 90th year. Beloved wife for 62 years of George Robertson Fraser and loving mother of Doris Fraser of Owen Sound, and Norman Fraser and his wife Elaine of Ottawa. Proud grandmother of Brian Fraser, Deirdre Fraser and Iris Fraser of Toronto. Survived by her dear brother Charles McLean and his wife Ruth of Victoria, BC, daughter of the late Mary Ann Smith and James Ross McLean of Reston, Manitoba. Predeceased by her brothers, Don, Murdoch, Ross, Bill, Goldwyn and sister Gladys. Mary attended the University of Manitoba where she met her life long husband of 62 years. they were married May 3, 1945 and celebrated their honeymoon in Niagara Falls at the time of VE day. The young couple settled in Winnipeg, Regina and Saskatoon, and then back to Winnipeg where they raised their children. George and Mary's later years were spent in Toronto and finally in Simcoe where they enjoyed their retirement, hosting many family and friends. Mary, the prairie rose; shy, unassuming, sweet and loving. Her radiant smile lit up a room, making everyone welcome. You will be missed. The family wishes to thank the local C.C.A.C., the Alzheimer's Society, and the staff at Cedarwood Village for their kind services to Mary. The family will receive friends to share their memories of Mary at THE BALDOCK FUNERAL HOME 96 Norfolk St. N., Simcoe on Friday, May 25, 2007 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Funeral Service will commence at 1:30 p.m. with Reverend Mary Jo Patterson officiating. Cremation with interment to follow in Manitoba at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Society would be gratefully appreciated by the family.
