THOMAS BROCK GOALEN Thomas Brock Goalen left us too soon, at age 58, on Friday, May 18, 2007, with his loving family by his side, after a brief but mighty struggle. Brock was born on May 5, 1949, and he shared that birth date with his devoted twin brother Bruce. He was predeceased by his parents, Lloyd (Goldie) and Mima, in-laws, Ernie and Geni Nemish and is survived by his loving family, wife Wendy, daughter Kelly, stepson John, daughter-in-law Kendra and his beloved granddaughter Sarah. Special extended family Norm, Susan, and Delia; loving brothers, Lawrie (Fran), Bruce (Lynne) and sister Edwina (Wally), many nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families, all of whom hold Brock in a special place in their hearts. Brock served his entire working career with the Department of the Environment, as a meteorological technician, spending four years in various remote Arctic weather stations before being assigned to Winnipeg. One of his pet projects was his involvement in the cleaning up of the Arctic environment and removal of the materials left behind by various research, military, and government expeditions. Brock had a wonderful sense of humour and a deep regard for other people. He made many lasting friendships throughout his career with his colleagues and the Inuit people in the communities where he worked. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2007, 10:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home with interment and reception to follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens.
