GIUSEPPE AIELLO July 21, 1927 May 22, 2007 On Tuesday, May 22, 2007, peacefully and surrounded by his family, Giuseppe Aiello passed away at the age of 79. He will be dearly missed by his spouse Vittoria; son Tony (Vincenzina); daughter Rosa (Victor); four grandchildren, Joseph, Franco, Victoria and Michaela; his three brothers, Francesco (Maria), Pietro, Antonio (Maria); and sister Maria (Salvatore); sister-in-law Carmelina; and many other family members. He was predeceased by his two brothers, Luigi and Natalino; and parents, Maria (nee Morelli) and Antonio Aiello. Giuseppe was born in Amato, Italy on July 21, 1927. In August of 1951, he married Vittoria Mauro. Amato became their home and in October of 1952, their son was born. Giuseppe was a dedicated husband and father who was determined to provide only the best for his family. This prompted his decision to move to Canada in 1958, followed by his wife and son a year later, leaving behind the only way of life he knew. Despite hardships such as language barriers, financial despair and enduring harsh winters, Giuseppe managed to find work to support his family. In November 1968, they celebrated the birth of their daughter. He loved to spend time with his family and was overjoyed when his children married. In May 1990, after 23 years of service, Giuseppe decided to retire from the University of Manitoba and fully devoted his time to his grandchildren. He was happiest watching them grow up and being a part of their lives. Giuseppe liked being with people; he was a caring, thoughtful man who shared many great times with family, friends and neighbours. We will miss you and you will be forever in our hearts. Thank you to all of our family and friends for their love and support. Prayer services will be held at Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Avenue on Thursday, May 24 at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 25 at 10:00 a.m. also at the church with Father Renato Pasinato. Entombment will follow at Chapel of Eternal Memories Mausoleum, 1501 Waverley Street. Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Joseph and Franco Aiello, nephews, Tony and Frank Stranieri, Agostino Mauro and Joe Anania. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. THOMSON IN THE PARK FUNERAL HOME AND CEMETERY 1291 McGillivray Blvd www.thomsoninthepark.com 925-1120
