SOPHIE KOSOWAN It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the peaceful passing of Sophie Kosowan on May 22, 2007 at the Park Manor Personal Care Home. Sophie was predeceased by her devoted husband Joseph and daughter Gaye. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Janis (Terry) Serediuk, Marilyn (Cliff) Anderson, Brenda (Rick) Davenport, Lois (Ray) Kosowan, son Joey Kosowan and son-in-law Fred Miller. Nana will also be missed by her grandchildren, Mandi, Jamie, Tiffany, Tyler, Tessa, Teighlor, Nikki, Chad, Jessica, Mitchell, Shayne, Rayna and six great-grandchildren. Sophie was born in 1932 and was raised in Carrick, MB, where her family owned and operated the Carrick General Store. As a young adult, she moved to Winnipeg where she married the love of her life, Joe and raised their family in Transcona. Mom loved sewing, cooking, baking, aerobics, dancing and music. She was passionate about family get-togethers and always took an interest in her children and grandchildren's lives. Mom worked for the Hudson's Bay Company for several years, enabling her to take her family on many vacations. With the onset of Alzheimer's, Mom spent the last seven years in Park Manor Personal Care Home in Transcona. The family would like to thank all the staff for the wonderful care she received; they made Mom feel at home. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 25, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home with reception to follow. If so desired, donations would be greatfully accepted by the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2. Do not weep for me, I am not gone, Look in the eyes of my children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, where I live on.
