VIVIAN (VIV) DALY Vivian (Viv) Daly died on May 23, 2007 after a courageous fight to stay as long as he could with his wife and family. Born in County Leitrim, Ireland in 1929. He is survived by his much loved wife Dorothy, of 55 years. Also survived by his son Martyn (Carolyn), grandsons, Kellen and Devan; son Stephen and grandson Sean; daughter Jane (Carl) and grandchildren, Kate and Kurt; daughter Melanie (Craig) and grandchildren, Meghan and Kale. Also survived by his special mother-in-law Edith; brothers-in-law, John (Anne) and Allan (Aneta); sisters, Phyllis and Evelyn and brother Eugene in England. Mom and Dad emigrated to Winnipeg with their two sons in 1958. They paved the way for many family and friends, had their two daughters and enjoyed many happy years in Winnipeg. They moved to Kelowna in 2002 and have made a home for themselves that they love with family and special friends. Although greatly admired in his professional life, Dad's focus was always on his family. He was a wonderful husband and a loving father. He never did anything in half measure and was truly a guiding force to us all, showing by example how to be a kind, compassionate soul. His sense of humour and cheerful disposition were legendary and he made friends everywhere. He was cheerful and cracking jokes up until the very end, making sure his wife Dorothy was taken care of and told all of us how much he loved us. We're so proud of you Dad. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, May 27 at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Holding Hands for Hospice Campaign, 202-1456 St. Paul Street, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 2E6 would be appreciated. Rest now Dad, we love you. Rest in peace my darling. A gift in living memory of Viv will be made to Holding Hands for Hospice by Springfield Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.springfieldfuneralhome.com 250-860-7077
