Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDENIS JOHN DONOHOE Very peacefully with family by his side, Dad left us to join his wife Dorothy on May 24, 2007. Dad was born in Petersfield on August 11, 1916, and remained there all his life. He leaves to mourn three sons, Desmond (Diane), Mickey, and Pat (Lesley) all of Petersfield; daughter Trudy (Doug) Lee of Waskada; nine granddaughters; four grandsons; 21 great-grandchildren; brother Jim (Elsie); sister Maureen Pruden; sister-in-law Ellen and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy; daughter Arlene; daughter-in-law Janice; two grandsons, Desmond and David; brother Blake and brother-in-law Charlie Pruden. Dad was very involved in the community activities, the church board, 4H, various dairy organizations and the Interlake Farmers Milk Truck. Keenly interested in all aspects of the farm, Dad could always be found behind the wheel of his truck checking on the cattle and fields making sure all was well. Over his life time Dad met many people, making friendships he cherished all of his days. Dad loved to sit surrounded by his children and grandchildren telling them stories of life when he was young. He leaves us a great legacy. Funeral mass will be held on Monday, May 28 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church in Petersfield with Fr. Dado Parrenas officiating. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Palliative Care at the Selkirk General Hospital, Box 500, 100 Easton Dr., Selkirk, MB R1A 2M2. The family would like to thank Dr. Simcoff, the nurses at Selkirk General and Leona Palmer of Palliative Care for all of their kindness and respect during Dad's illness. An Irish Blessing May the road rise to meet you May the wind be always at your back May the sun shine warm on your face The rain fall softly on your fields And until we meet again May God hold you in the palm of His hand. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
