Born: Jun 29, 1930
Date of Passing: May 22, 2007
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLIDIA SCLIPPA (PELLICCI)(SUSTAR) June 29, 1930 May 22, 2007 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother Lidia Sclippa on Tuesday, May 22. She leaves to cherish her memory, her four children Norberto (Pam), Annamaria (Tim), Vivian (Brad) and Denise (George). Also grieving her loss are her grandchildren, Jason, Jaime, Ian, Adam, Eric, Scott and Brett, and her most recent pride and joy, her great-granddaughter Mia. We'd be remiss if we didn't mention her two favorite boys, Cujo and Misiu, who she proudly called her grand-dogs. She is preceded in death by her first husband Galliano (1958), as well as her second husband Giuseppe (1993), her parents, Giovanni and Anna, and her sister Mary. She also leaves behind her four treasured sisters, Elda, Nella, Rory, Fiora and their families. Overcoming much adversity, Mom immigrated to Canada from Italy in 1953, determined to provide a better life for herself and her family. She was intensely proud of being a Canadian. She loved this country and all the opportunities it provided. Mom loved education and learning. Although she was not able to take her schooling here, she took pride in the fact that her children were well-educated. Mom carried herself with dignity and grace, always a lady in the way she walked, talked and took care herself. She had an unbelievable work ethnic and taught us to be independent and work hard for what we wanted. With her sunny smile and kind words she was always there to comfort those in need. Her love for children was boundless and was reflected in the generous contributions to charities supporting children. Everyone who knew her was drawn to her easy going nature and she was often referred to as adorable. A true angel who walked among us, Mom was the most selfless, kind and loving person you could ever meet. We were truly blessed to have had her in our lives and to call her Mom. Viewing will take place between 12:00 noon and 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29 directly followed by a brief eulogy (12:50 p.m.) and Mass of Christian burial at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the charity of your choice is gratefully requested. You can shed tears that she is gone Or you can smile because she has lived. You can close your eyes and pray that she'll come back Or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left. Your heart can be empty because you can't see her Or you can be full of the love that you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember her and only that she is gone Or you can cherish her memory and let it live it live on. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn back, Or you can do what she would want: SMILE, OPEN YOUR EYES, LOVE and GO ON. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200 nbardal.mb.ca
