CHRIS PETER JOHANSON It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our loving son and father, Chris. He was born in Winnipeg on a sunny day on June 23, 1981. He leaves to mourn his passing his life partner and the love of his life, Michelle Seymour; their beautiful son, Cale, and Jaden, who held a special place in his heart; also, his mom and dad, Carly and Gayle Johanson of Arborg; his favourite sister Mandy (Todd Krahn) of Arborg; and his two special brothers that he was so proud of, Kyle and Jordan; his nana Millie Lefko of Winnipeg; and many aunts and uncles, cousins and friends. Chris grew up on the family dairy farm, which kept him busy as a child. He attended school in Arborg and went on to get a certificate in the Hospitality/Tourism Program. He tried many different occupations. He followed his grandfather's footsteps and fished Lake Winnipeg. He also enjoyed bartending, and he was an excellent carpenter as his mother kept him very busy. He worked at the Fairmont Hotel in Lake Louise and La RiviƩre, where he mastered snowboarding and loved it. He was a natural at any sport. He started hockey as a novice and played through to midget as a goalie. He loved the game. Chris had a heart of gold and would try and help out anyone in any way. His nana was very special to him as she always had an open door for him. His best friend Dennis has been in his life since they were born and was always there for him, as well as Shaun Fjelsted who was also a faithful friend who always kept in touch. There will be a memorial service at the Ardal-Geysir Lutheran Church, Arborg, on Monday, May 28 at 2:00 p.m. Coffee will follow at the family residence, 488 David Street. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Addictions Foundation of Manitoba or the Ardal-Geysir Lutheran Church. We love you, rest my child. Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Home in care of arrangements.

Chris, full of life and energy, always found with a smile on his face, and a gleam in his eyes, always looking for something faster, better, and more fun. He was someone who needed to be off a leash, but on track. Just seeing his smile reminds me of fun times. Times that were seemingly long, yet far too short. When the leash tightened up, the wind became lesser. It was the beginning of the end, and could of been the beginning of a Born Again life, but, it was not. Too short, too restricted, and too much of everything in between. Enjoy the after life, bud, and it certainly wasn't my fault that the real life wasn't really longer, because we had a plan to please. RIP, man. - Posted by: Einar Johanson (Uncle) on: Aug 31, 2025
