Also surviving him is one son Bob Vidal. Dad was predeceased by his parents, Lavinia and Charles Vidal; brothers, Richard and David Vidal and Aunt Thelma Williams. Dad was born and raised in Woodlands, MB and left at the early age of 15 to seek employment. Dad was employed as a machinist with C.P.R. at Weston shop. Retiring at the age of 58, he enjoyed his retirement staying at the home he built in Windsor Park in 1957. He took great interest in computers, the stock markets, reading, genealogy, gardening and the company of his family. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at Central Church of Christ, 217 Osborne St South., on Thursday, May 31 at 2:00 p.m. The family is thankful to all the Homecare providers and nurses for their compassion and friendship, which enabled Dad to remain at home comfortably for five months and also grateful to the nurses and staff on the palliative care ward at Riverview Health center. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB. In tears we saw you sinking, We watched you fade away, You suffered much in silence, You fought so hard to stay, God saw you getting tired, When a cure was not to be, So he put His arms around you, And whispered, Come with me . So when we saw you sleeping, So peacefully free from pain, We could not wish you back, To suffer that again. Together forever in our hearts Until we meet again Dad.
