GRACE ROSE BODNARUK (nee BRUNEAU) On May 25, 2007, Grace Bodnaruk at the age of 64, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Riverview Health Centre. She will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Gale (David) Bonin, Lorraine; and her son Donald (Carla Mihaychuk); her mother Rose Bruneau and her brothers and sisters Robert Bruneau, Evelyn (Ken) Beauchamp, Mary-lynn (Bruce) Bannatyne, Gary Bruneau, Harry (Lori) Bruneau and also her many nephews and nieces. Grace was predeceased by her husband Don Bodnaruk and father Robert Bruneau. Grace was born and raised in Winnipeg and as the oldest child help raised her siblings, while both her parents worked hard to provide for their children. After high school, Grace followed in her father's and uncles footsteps in serving the country and joined the Canadian Navy where she traveled the world extensively. One of her roles in the navy was recruitment and was considered the personification of the attractive, feminine, forward-looking young lady . Grace had worked with various companies over the years before retiring from Westeel Ltd as the executive assistant. Grace returned home after fours years of duty, when she met her future husband Don Bodnaruk. Grace and Don where blessed to raise three beautiful children. Not only was she a devout mother, loving and supportive wife, she firmly believed in the unison of family and kindness to others. All those who have met her can testify to her unending love, kindness, charming personality, and positive attitude. She enjoyed spending time in her backyard gardening, reading, and enjoying her morning coffee.But most of all she loved spending time with her husband, children, friends and family members. During the summer months Grace and her husband took every chance with their children to enjoy Manitoba's campgrounds and the various trips out west to the Rocky Mountains. The family of Grace would like to send special thanks to Dr Brandes, Dr Sisler, and the nurses at CancerCare Manitoba Health Sciences Centre. Prayer Service to be held on Tuesday, May 29, at 8:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 4588 Roblin Blvd. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 4588 Roblin Blvd. on Wednesday, May 30, at 9:45 a.m. Interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made by donations in Grace's memory to CancerCare Manitoba.
