Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY ANN KOLTOK It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Mary Ann Koltok (Kotyk) at Vancouver General Hospital on May 16, 2007 at age 84. Born January 26, 1923, Mary was predeceased by her husband of 38 years, John Koltok in 1981 and her parents, Ann and Nicholas Kotyk. Mary is also predeceased by her four brothers, Billy (Rose), Peter, John and Steve. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Barbara Finlayson and her son-in-law, Jerry, of Bothell, Washington; grandchildren Robert Finlayson of Kenmore, Washington; Trish and Jon Parsley of Everett, Washington; great-grandchildren, Jeff (Gina) Goff, Justin Finlayson, Megan and Shawn Parsley. Mary also recently celebrated the arrival of her first great-great-grandchild, Lana Mae Goff on September, 23 2006. Mary is also survived by many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. A lifelong resident of Winnipeg, Mary worked for the CPR at their Royal Alexandra Hotel for 25 years until it's closure. She then worked for Winnipeg's famous Rae Jerry's Steak House for 23 years until her retirement in 1993. Following her retirement Mary moved to Vancouver, BC in 1996 to be closer to family. She loved to garden, bake, knit, crochet and play cards with her friends at the Ukrainian Manor. She was a very good artist and left us with a fine collection of her excellent works but nothing made her more happy than to be with her family and the ones she loved. Her family and many friends will always remember her warm smile, engaging personality and caring nature, Her wonderful sense of humor and consideration for others were the cornerstones of her life. We thank her for her love and caring and we will miss her dearly. The family would like to gratefully acknowledge and thank Dr. Haseena Majeed and the caregivers at the Vancouver General Hospital Palliative Care Unit and her many caring friends at the Ukrainian Manor. A Celebration of Mary's Life will be held on Thursday, June 7 at 2:00 p.m. at St Michael's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 110 Disraeli Street in Winnipeg. A reception will follow at the church. A private family interment will be held later at Brookside Cemetery. If desired, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
