EYFI OLIVER WALTERSON It is with deep sadness that the family of Eyfi Oliver Walterson announces his passing on Sunday, May 27, 2007 at East Gate Lodge in Beausejour, MB. Eyfi leaves to mourn and cherish his memory his loving wife of 56 years, Sigrun Margaret, and their children and spouses, Kevin and Connie, Dianne, Kelly and Ingrid. He also leaves grandchildren, Shannon and Roxanne, Samantha and Reed, Tristan and Quinn. His passing is also mourned by many nieces, nephews and countless friends. Eyfi was born on June 14, 1928 in the BRU District near Cypress River, MB. He grew up in that area until moving to Winnipeg to attend University to become a Pharmacist. Eyfi practised pharmacy in Winnipeg, Portage La Prairie, Dryden then moved to Beausejour and purchased Beausejour Drugs Ltd. where he worked until his retirement. Eyfi was a very active member of the community. He was Mayor of Beausejour serving for 12 years. He sat on numerous boards and worked for many organizations throughout his life. He was a lifetime Lions Club member and thoroughly enjoyed helping others. Dad consistently saw the best in us and others. He was always supportive and loving, there to lend a hand, give encouragement and provide unconditional love. Dad was a kind, loving and gentle man. He will be so dearly missed. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff that cared for him at the Beausejour Hospital and East Gate Lodge. According to Eyfi's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 31 at 2:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Avenue East, Beausejour, MB with Pastor Hugh Laidlaw officiating. Service will terminate at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, if friends and family so desire, donations in Eyfi's memory may be made to Beausejour Lion's Club, Box 944, Beausejour, MB R0E 0C0 or East Gate Lodge, Box 1690, Beausejour, MB R0E 0C0.
