Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGLORIA PENNER Gloria was born on February 6, 1944, in St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg to Alvin and Esther Penner, nee Paschke. Upon leaving the hospital, she lived with her parents on the Argue brothers' farm until they moved to a farm southwest of Morris. She attended school at South Flowery Bank, Morris High School and Steinbach Bible School, receiving her diploma in 1967. Gloria took her teacher training at the University of Manitoba in 1967-68. Upon completion she started teaching at Kane, and then moved to Lowe Farm School where she remained until she retired in 1999. Gloria moved to Winnipeg to take care of dad during his struggle with Alzheimers. Then she remained at Meadowood Manor, showering our mother with care until her passing in 2005. Gloria was diagnosed with cancer in 2004 but with her positive attitude and chemotherapy was in remission until July 2006. With the support of her herbs and another round of chemotherapy, Gloria resumed her battle to beat the cancer that was invading her body. She was hospitalized at St. Boniface Hospital on April 22, 2007, and transferred to Riverview on Thursday, May 24. Gloria met her Savior Jesus at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, May 26, 2007, with her family surrounding her with singing. Gloria is fondly remembered by her family, brothers, Lloyd and Darlene; Vernon and Anne; Glen and Kim; Tim and Laurel; sister Eileen (Delaney); nieces and nephews, Melissa and Darren Hansen with daughter Sarah; Stephanie and Stephan Siemens; Nicholas; Michael; Rachel; Amanda; Meghan; Shawn; Aleah. She was predeceased by her mother Esther; and father Alvin. The memorial service in celebration of Gloria's life will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at Meadowood Manor Chapel, 575 St. Anne's Road, Winnipeg.
