MILDRED GERTRUDE LORAINE DELISLE (FORREST) (nee CRESWELL) October 8, 1918 - May 24, 2007 Mom was born in Regina, SK, the fourth of five children of Ruth Bertilla Adams and Horatio Nelson Creswell. The family moved to Winnipeg in 1924, and remained in the west end where mom attended Wolseley, Issac Brock and Gordon Bell schools. Following graduation from high school, she worked for the T. Eaton Company and the Metropolitan Stores before beginning a career at the Manitoba Telephone System in 1951, retiring as a supervisor in 1974. Mom was married to Robert A. Forrest until 1949 and then was a single mom for 10 years before marrying Aime Joseph Delisle in 1959. They spent 30 happy years together before Aime's untimely death in 1989. During that time mom and Aime were very involved in the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #23. During the F.O.E. 80th anniversary in 1979, their highlight was when each was elected president, Aime to the Men's Club and mother to the Ladies Auxillary. They had many great holidays at Caddy Lake, Hawaii, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Mom was an avid 5 pin bowler and was the president of the MTS league for several seasons. Other interests included crossword puzzles, knitting, crocheting, sewing, bingo and casino trips with her sisters. Besides her parents and husband, mom was predeceased by her sisters, Doris Lavallee and Irene Campbell (Ramshaw), and brother Ralph Creswell, who was lost during the Second World War, and grandson Douglas Bruce Solomon. Mom is survived by her dear sister Connie; and her daughters, Cathy Darbell, Marilyn McMullan (Geoffery) and Judy Butler (Phil); grandchildren, Debbie Clairmont-Solomon, Dan Solomon (Heather), Michele Klippenstien (Gary), Laura Solomon (Petra), Carol Gregora (Grant), Kathryn Harris (Greg), Janice and David Butler, as well as step-grandchildren, Sharon McMullan-Baron (Daryl), Bill McMullan, Maryanne Clark (Pat), Gerald and Michelle McMullan. Also surviving are 21 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren; niece Shirley Elcomb (Al), and nephew Don Ramshaw (Glenda) and families. Mourning her loss will be many members of the Delisle family, especially the Musketeers , Lorraine and Peggy. She will be fondly remembered by special friend Joanne Pass and family, and Archie Scerbo, her friend and hairdresser for over 30 years.
