HANS JORGEN HANSEN Very peacefully, with his family by his side, at the Grace Hospital, Hans left us after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He lost his fight to stay with his wife and family as long as he could on Sunday, May 27, 2007 at the age of 69. Hans will be sadly missed by his wife Lillian, of nearly 39 years, and his sons, Neil, Eric (Jenn) and Scott (Ashlea). He is also survived by his sisters, Gudrun (Juhl), and Bente (Svend), as well as nieces, nephews and in-laws. Hans was predeceased by his parents, Fredrik and Clara, and sister Helga. He was born on January 30, 1938 in Denmark, but eventually made his home in Winnipeg. He was a very dedicated, hard worker from a very early age, right up to retirement. He enjoyed playing soccer and team handball while growing up and was involved with his son's sports, coaching soccer, also Sunday Moto-cross races. If anyone was willing to play cards, especially whist or crib, Hans was always ready. Hans could often be seen in the driveway working on someone's car, and loved going to garage sales because he could always use more tools .
