Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLILLIAN BELOFF With deep sadness, the family of Lillian Beloff (nee Sonick) announce her passing on May 26, 2007. Lillian is survived by her daughters, Gloria (Joe) Gold, Arna Beloff (Gabe) Enzsol, and her grandchildren, Lisa and Steven Gold. Her passing is also mourned by her many nieces and nephews. Born in Toronto April 15, 1918, Lillian was predeceased by her husband Harry in 1965. Having met in Toronto where Harry was stationed in the Air Force, they were married in 1944. Lillian joined Harry in Winnipeg after the war. For most of her life she resided on Lansdowne Avenue. After her husband's early passing, Lillian worked with great pride and pleasure as a secretary in the office of the Attorney General of Manitoba as she supported her young family. Many crown attorneys and judges remember her positive contributions to their early careers. As well, she worked in the office of the Rosh Pina Synagogue for many years. In addition, she put her excellent typing skills to use as she professionally typed the essays of many university students. Lillian was a devoted wife and loving mother. She passed to her daughters a lifelong love of reading. She was devoted to her grandchildren and they always enjoyed their annual visits with Bubbie Lilly. With a strong belief in family values Auntie Lillian took great pride in the accomplishments and stories of her many nieces and nephews. Family events were not complete without her famous cinnamon twist cookies. The family would like to express their special thanks to Jewish Family and Child Services Social Worker, Helen Aldor, for 17 years of support, and Wendy Weisbrod and the health care workers of the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority for their dedication to her well being, particularly in the last year. Funeral services were held Sunday, May 27 at Congregation Etz Chayim. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jewish National Fund, Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice. Condolences may be addressed to the family care of Gloria Gold, 709 Conacher Dr., Toronto, ON, M2M 3N7.
