PRITAM (PAT) BAWA It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, wife and grandmother, Pritam Bawa, on the morning of May 28, 2007, at the age of 60. Pritam lost her eight-month battle with breast cancer at the Grace Hospital. Pritam will forever be missed and loved by her husband Jagdeep Singh of 36 years; her three children and son-in-law, Sumita and Scott Dunbar, Savita, and Ian. She is cherished and remembered by her grandchildren, Daniella and Gabriel. Pritam (nee Soni) was born on April 19, 1947, in Jammu, India. She was the youngest and only daughter of four brothers. She met and married Jagdeep in September 1971, and by 1974 Pritam, Jagdeep and their oldest daughter Sumita traveled to Canada and began their new life in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Pritam was full of life, energy and curiosity. From childhood, her eagerness to learn began with her love of the sitar and music, which she mastered in university. She continued to learn new skills from cooking to crafts, to most recently walking herself through the information highway. Not only did she love to learn, she loved to pass on her knowledge to those she cared for. In the years she spent in Winnipeg, she made many beautiful friends, and touched many hearts, whether it was through her cooking, friendship, words of wisdom, or her generosity. Mom is missed dearly, and each one of us remembers her in our own way: Mom, I love you so much and will miss talking to you daily. I'll miss your motherly advice and love to my children. There will not be a day that will go by without me speaking to your spirit. - Sumita Mom you were my best friend, and I will miss you every day. You were the only person I could talk to, you always accepted me. You taught me how to be strong and believe in God, and I thank you. I love you with all my heart, always and forever. I feel so empty without you, but I know you are watching over us and will always be with us. - Savita I wish I could have done something, Mom. I sat there praying for a miracle. I'm sitting here now crying writing this. I love and miss you so much and I don't know what to do right now. I wish you were here still, and it's killing me inside. - Ian A memorial service will be held on June 2, 2007, at Thomson In The Park Funeral Home at 1291 McGillivray Blvd. at 2:00 p.m. A Sikh ceremony will follow at the Singh Sabha Sikh Temple at 4000 Sturgeon Road at 5:00 p.m. Our family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the CancerCare Centre. We request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to CancerCare Manitoba. THOMSON IN THE PARK FUNERAL HOME AND CEMETERY 1291 MCGILLIVRAY BLVD. WWW.THOMSONINTHEPARK.COM 925-1120
