LUCIEN JOSEPH HYACINTHE (LOU) LEPINE On Saturday, May 26, 2007, at St. Joseph Hospital, Comox, BC, with family at his side, Lou passed away at the age of 79 years. He leaves to mourn the mother of his children, Germaine (Chabot); his five children, Rose Lepine Knabb (Fred), Robert Lepine, Catherine Turner (Brian), Rick Lepine (Maria), Lucille Serger (Chris); his grandchildren, Tara (Brent), Rock, Jasmine, Martin, Gary and Alain; and three great-grandchildren, Emilah, Isaac and Hayden. Dad will be lovingly missed and remembered by his brother John (Aline); and his sisters, Dolorese Poiron, Blanche (Ed) Gregory, Fleurette Wasylenko, Loretta Mireault and Annette (Tommy) Martel. Dad was predeceased by his parents, Agnes and Hyacinthe; as well as his brothers, George, Jules and Lionel. Dad was raised in Marchand, Manitoba, and lived there most of his life. He was active in his community, holding various elected positions, most recently with the Manitoba Metis Federation. Road construction was dad's profession and his passion. Dad earned the reputation of being one of the best in his field and he achieved his goal of being in the business for 50 years, developing friendships with many of his business associates. Dad also enjoyed the love and support of the friends of Bill and Lois W for the past 33 years. Dad was always supportive and gave his love unconditionally. His favourite saying was Do what's best for you. He also dearly loved and enjoyed his grandchildren and then his great-grandchildren, welcoming them to his home, giving them rides on his grader or letting them drive his truck. We would like to especially thank Drs. Will Tinmouth at St. Joseph Hospital and Dr. Mark Fournier at St. Anne Hospital, for their continued efforts on dad's behalf. Friends and family are invited to join us in a celebration of dad's life to be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 8, 2007, at the Marchand Catholic Church, Marchand, Manitoba, followed by a reception at the Marchand Community Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. We love you Dad!
