ANNE PYTEL (nee SCHNERCH) April 24, 1921 - May 30, 2007 Anne Pytel, aged 86, of Gimli, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2007, at the Gimli Community Health Centre with family at her side. Anne is survived by her children, Josephine Banera (Adam), Julia Rolsky (Paul), Frances Manhard (George), Peter (Monica), Paul (Delayne), Mary Stevens (Gregory), Carol Isfeld (Jim Ross), Michael (Marsha) and Donna Wawrykow (Leslie); 20 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; sisters, Kay Hurak (late Joe), Eva Bobrovich (late Tony), Mary Keryluk (Adam), Josephine Marks (Jerome) and Florence Reimer (late Ernest); brothers, Stanley (late Rose), Archie (Sabina) and Alfred (Laura); sisters-in-law, Jessie Schnerch and Jean Schnerch. She was predeceased by her husband Egnas; infant son Albert; parents John and Mary Schnerch; brothers, Adam, John and Joe; and sister-in-law Jean. Anne was born and raised in Berlo, Manitoba. As a young girl she worked at the Camp in Camp Morton for the Sisters as well as the Bishop. She married Egnas on July 1, 1944, and together they raised their family on a farm in Camp Morton not far from where she herself was born and raised. Her life was the perfect example of how to love and care for each other, the importance of family and the faith to live life to the fullest through trusting in God. Her hands were never idle in her younger years, cooking, gardening, and sewing then in her senior years she enjoyed building puzzles, knitting and doing crafts. She moved Betel Home in 2004 where she continued to set an example of caring for others. All those who knew and loved her will sadly miss her. The family would like to sincerely thank the nurses and staff at Betel Home, Gimli, for their dedication and kindness to mom. Thank you to all her special friends at Betel who made her life there so pleasant. Special thanks to Dr. R.C Patel, nurses and staff at Gimli Community Health Centre for their care and support. Prayers will be said on Friday, June 1 at 8:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli. Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, June 2 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Michael's Church, Gimli, with interment to follow in St. Benedict's Cemetery, Camp Morton. Active/honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Betel Home Foundation, Box 10, Gimli, MB R0C 1B0, The Diabetes Association 200 - 310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6, or a charity of your choice. Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli in care of arrangements.
