STEVE BURAK February 25, 1929 - May 28, 2007 On Monday, May 28, 2007 Steve died at the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg at the age of 78 years. Remaining to forever cherish Steve's memory are Ruth, his wife and best friend of 44 years of marriage; brother and sister-in-law Ray and Joan Hatton of Mississauga, ON; nieces and nephews Bill and Gislaine Hatton (Brewster and Brayden); Catherine Hatton of Toronto; Rob and Denise Coombs-Hatton (Jasper and Jessie) of Toronto; Janet and Scott Kenny of Calgary; and an extended family in Canada and the United States. He was predeceased by his parents Michael and Julia Burak; and in-laws Roderick and Queenie Skinner. Born in Oak Lake, MB, Steve lived most of his life in North Winnipeg, but the last 16 years were spent in St. Andrews. He retired from Via Rail in 1990 as a brakeman conductor after 40 plus years with CN and Via Rail. One of his greatest joys was travelling. He and Ruth travelled extensively around the world; usually cruising. Steve loved to interact with people; he had a great gift for connecting with anyone. In compliance with Steve's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. A family gathering will take place at a later date. I would like to express my thanks for the care and kindness shown to us by A2 Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, also from friends and family who have been there for us during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Steve's memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent Street, Winnipeg, MB, R2L 1X3 or the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, Unit 10 - 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3C 4G2 would be gratefully accepted. Steve's arrangements have been entrusted to Manitoba's largest Original Family Owned Funeral Service Provider: WOJCIK'S ALL BELIEFS FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM 897 - 4665
