JACOB WIEBE It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father, Jacob Wiebe, on May 31, 2007. He was surrounded by family at Concordia Hospital as he was taken from us at the age of 83 after a brief, but very intense, battle with cancer. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 56 years, Anna (nee Warkentin); son Jake (Carla); daughter Frieda (Jim), and grandsons, Graham and Nicholas, and numerous relatives and friends. Jacob was born in Russia on February 16, 1924 and immigrated to Canada in 1948 to settle in Winnipeg. Jacob loved life and people. A thoughtful and caring man, Jacob touched the lives of all who knew him. He was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He took great pride in everything he built, fixed, designed and created. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed his cottage. One of his greatest joys was being with his grandchildren. The family wishes to thank Dr. Doermer, Dr. Harris and staff of Concordia Hospital for their care. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at First Mennonite Church, 922 Notre Dame Avenue, with Reverend Franz Wiebe officiating. Interment to follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Viewing at the church prior to the service. Donations may be made in Jacob's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 109 - 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. Friends Funeral Service 2146 Main Street 339-5555
