LOWELL RAYMOND CAMPBELL June 28, 1936 - May 31, 2007 With deep sadness that the family of Lowell Campbell announces his passing. His memory will be forever cherished by his wife Marlene; mother Julia, and brother Lyndon; his children, Cheryl (Archer), Daron and Shauna; sons-in-law, Pat Archer, Gord Schumacher; daughters-in-law, Diane, Audrey; grandchildren, Jenna, Cameron, Derek, Samantha, Melissa, Ayden and Madison. Lowell was predeceased by his father Wilford; brothers, Eric and Mervyn; and his son Dayne. As a professional engineer, Lowell began his career with The City of Winnipeg in 1958, becoming Manager of Streets and Traffic in 1973, a position he held until he retired in 1991. After retirement, he spent many enjoyable years as a volunteer at the Manitoba Aviation Museum. He loved reading, canoeing, camping, developing computer software, and sharing his vast knowledge. Because of his love for the outdoors, he introduced his family to the wonderful parks and rivers throughout Canada. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice. A private family event will be held, and a Celebration of Life Reception will be announced at a later date.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Hi Shauna, my condolences go out to you and your family. Forgive my tardiness but I was recently at a funeral for a friend of mine who you knew and your photo came up on the big screen. Mr. Campbell as I knew him was a quite soft spoken man who loved tinkering around the house, especially in his drafting room where he would spend countless hours preparing work projects for our great City of Winnipeg. Always quick with a smile and away he would go onto his next project. I always sensed your love an admiration for your Father who I know is sorely missed, he was a great human being.
