FRANCES GODDE (nee WIMMER) On May 31, 2007 at Kildonan Personal Care Centre, Frances Godde with her family by her side, passed away peacefully at the age of 92 years. She is survived by her four daughters, Luise Avery (Ken), Jo-Anne Dickinson (Charles), Diana Lafferty (Clayton), Leni Maksimow (Wayne) and grandchildren, Lisa Avery, Larissa Hughes (Francis) Jason Maksimow (Danielle), Allison Lamontagne (Kris) and great-granddaughter Asia Tom Lafferty; special nephew Paul Godde (Ursula) and their children Mark and Christine. She also leaves to mourn her passing John Maksimow (Leni), Lu Ginter, as well as many other family and friends. Frances was predeceased by her husband Joseph Godde; brother Frank and sister-in-law Vicki; sister Anne and brother-in-law Henry Ginter and grandson James Lafferty. Born in Munich, Germany in 1915 Frances came to Canada in 1928 at the age of 13. She married Joseph Godde in 1938 and together they had four daughters. She was widowed in 1955. She raised her four daughters in East St. Paul and supported them by running the family business, J. Godde Barber Beauty Supply Ltd. with the help of family and in particular her nephew Paul. She retired at the age of 72. Frances enjoyed her retirement years with her family and friends, travelling, gardening, spending special times with her grandchildren, and enjoying her home on Foxdale Avenue where she resided till the summer of 2006. She loved music and for many years she sang and travelled with the Winnipeg Senior Citizens Choir. The Family would like to thank Homecare, Misercordia Hospital and Kildonan Personal Care Centre for all their care and kindness. We found a note from Mom that reads Thank you ALL for the wonderful life you have given me, Love Mom, Gramma, Great-gramma and Mother-In-Law. God Bless you all. Also, thank you my Dear Friends. Pallbearers are Ken Avery, Clayton Brinkman, Wayne Flamand, Kris Lamontagne, Jason Maksimow and John Maksimow. Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 5 from 1:00 to 1:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. with the Funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be held in Elmwood Cemetery following the service.
