Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGINA DEJONG October 3, 1932 - May 31, 2007 Suddenly on Thursday, May 31, 2007, at the St. Boniface Hospital, Georgina with her family by her side passed away at the age of 74 years. She was predeceased by her parents James and Eliza Nixon, her brother, Robert and three of her sisters, Irene, Kathleen and Evelyn. Georgina was born in Winnipeg into a large family of three sisters and one brother. Tragically she lost her parents while very young. At that time she was lovingly embraced into the family of her Uncle George and Aunt Irene along with their daughter, Susan. She will be missed and remembered by her loving husband John of 55 years and her three children, Patrick, Maureen (Dave); Kelly (Rob); her sister (Edith) and very special cousin Susan (Don); her grandchildren, Christina, Shane, Shawna (David) and Wendy and great-grandchildren, Robin, Kory, Nicolas, Dawson and Gabriella and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and numerous friends and neighbours. She was an avid curler devoting many hours in support of her sport and was a Life Member and former Past President of the Pembina Curling Club. The family wish to thank the 911 response team for their prompt and courteous attention and all the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital for their compassion and care provided to Georgina and the family. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave on Thursday June 7, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. A reception will follow. Flowers gratefully declined. If friends so desire, donations may be made in her memory to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200 - 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6.
