ROBERT GEORGE WATSON August 29, 1921 June 3, 2007 On June 3, 2007, George passed away peacefully at Grace Hospital with family by his side. Survived by his wife of 63 years, Olive; children, Susan (Terry) Hurley, Bob (Gwen) Watson and Janet (Dennis) Frohwerk; grandchildren, Dan (Kim) Hurley, Mark (Jeannette) Watson, Colleen Hurley, Laura, Kristy and Jeff Frohwerk; great-grandson Liam; nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents; brother Richard Watson and twin sister Olive Fenn. George was the youngest son of Samuel and Susan Watson born on August 29, 1921, in Winnipeg. He grew up and was educated in the North End. George joined the RCAF in 1941 and served overseas in the Second World War as a radar tech. In 1944, he returned to Canada and married Olive Fidler. After the war, George went to work at TCA and later Bristol Aerospace, where he stayed until his retirement in 1979. Olive and George lived on Marjorie St. for nearly 50 years. George loved life, enjoyed the company of his family, friends and pets, and had a great sense of humour. He was a member of the St. James #4 Legion and 402 Squadron. The family would like to thank the staff at Grace Hospital for the support they gave our Dad during his final days. A celebration of George's life will be held on Wednesday, June 6 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg. A gathering of family and friends to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society and The Grace Hospital Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to: Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 885-9715
