MARIAN HRYCYNA On June 1, 2007 at 12:25 a.m. at the age of 69, Marian Hrycyna (nee Malanchuk) peacefully passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital. Marian is survived by her husband of 47 years Walter; her eldest son Todd and his wife Susan; grandchildren, Krystyn and Darryn and her youngest son Tim, his wife Carla, grandchildren, Cameron and Maureen. Marian was a caring wife, a loving mother and mother in-law and a proud Nana. Marian is also survived by her only brother Boris, wife Joan and nieces Joanne (David), Kathy (Howard) and Julie (Steve). Marian was born and raised in Portage la Prairie. She graduated as a registered nurse in 1958. She worked in the labor and delivery room and the premature nursery at the St. Boniface General Hospital until 1981. One of Marian's greatest joys was her grandchildren. She was very proud of them and was grateful for each opportunity she had to spend time with them. Marian suffered from macular degeneration as her eyesight deteriorated over the years. In addition, Marian fought many courageous battles against cancer. Marian will be sadly missed however she will be cherished and live on in the memories of all of those who knew her. A memorial service will take place at the Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 rue DesMeurons, on Tuesday June 5, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers and in keeping with Marian's wishes donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the CNIB would be greatly appreciated.
