LINA BERTI Lina Berti (nee Unti) passed away peacefully at Holy Family Nursing Home on June 2, 2007, at the age of 80 years. Lina was the devoted wife of Aldo for 58 years, until his passing last year. She was the adored mother of Romeo (Joanne) and Sandra Cerqueira (Albert), and proud and loving Nonna of Anthony and Daniel Cerqueira. She also leaves to mourn her sister Fanni Piacentini (Giancarlo) of Italy, and cousins, Irma Tintori (late Agostino), Laura Gowerluk (Kelly) and Vico Fabbri. Lina was born in La Toscana, where she met and married her beloved Aldo. In 1949, she said goodbye to her family, and moved to Winnipeg where Aldo had already settled. With high hopes for a better future, Lina and Aldo raised their children with a strong sense of family and integrity. A dedicated wife, mother and friend, tireless worker, caring and selfless soul, wonderful cook, accepting and positive spirit these are but a few words to describe the one-in-a-million Lina, who had touched so many lives and was loved by all who were fortunate enough to have known her. Rest in peace, dear Lina, for the last few years were undeservedly difficult. Thanks are extended to all staff on St. Paul's floor of Holy Family Nursing Home, for their loving care. A special thank you goes out to all the people who visited Lina, and whose support and unwavering friendship was much appreciated by the family. Prayers will be said Wednesday June 6, 7:45 p.m. at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Avenue. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, June 7, 10:00 a.m. also at the Church with Reverend Father Sam Argenziano presiding. Entombment will follow in Queen of Heaven Mausoleum at Assumption Cemetery, 3390 Portage Avenue. Bardal Funeral Home 843 Sherbrook Street, 774-7474 condolences: www.bardal.ca
