JACOB PETER REIMER Passed away at Oakbank Personal Care Home on Sunday, June 3, 2007. Dad was 90 years old. Dad was born on October 11, 1916 in the village of Osterwick-Kronstal, Ukraine, to Peter Jacob and Anna (Peters) Reimer. In 1926 Dad, along with his family, immigrated to Manitoba. It was in McAuley, MB, that Dad met Mom (Mary Friesen), whom he was married to for 62 years. Dad was predeceased by his wife, Mary on December 8, 2002; son John Robert (Jackie) in November 1972. Being the last of his generation, he was predeceased by his older brother, Peter X. Reimer, his sister, Annie Suderman, stepsister Agnes Barkman and stepbrother Paul Reimer. Lovingly remembered, Dad, Grandpa, Great-Grandpa will be greatly missed by his son Peter (Nina); grandson Peter (Lauralee), their children, Kaitlyn, Ashtyn, Nichole, Brooke, Mitchell; granddaughter Pam (Leonard) Braun, their children, Janelle, Jacob, Carly Hannah; grandson Rod (Diane) Reimer, their children, Ian, Abby, Cameron, Rebecca; his daughter Helen (Rudy) Funk, granddaughter, Kim (Stuart) Houston, their children, Lisa, Courtney; grandson Ken (Louella); his son Ernie (Diana), grandson Chris (Destiny), their children, Brandy, Bailey, Chase; granddaughter Carla, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to sincerely thank all the staff at the Oakbank Personal Care Home for their dedication in making Dad's life comfortable. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Oakbank Baptist Church, 4655 Springfield Rd, Oakbank, MB, with Pastor Ed Hamm officiating. Interment will follow at Green Acres Cemetery. Memorial donations in memory of Dad may be made to Meadowood Manor Building Fund, 577 St. Anne's Rd, Winnipeg, MB R2M 5B2.
