ANNA GOODMUNDSON Peacefully on Saturday, June 2, 2007 at Victoria General Hospital, Anna Goodmundson, in her 90th year. Born June 27, 1917, the daughter of Bina and Narfi Narfason in Foam Lake, Saskatchewan. Anna served in the Canadian Women's Army Corp during the Second World War before marrying Edwin Goodmundson and moving to Winnipeg. Anna was predeceased by her parents, her brother Allan, and by her husband in 1997. She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Terry Goodmundson of Whitby, Ontario, Albert and wife Carole Goodmundson of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Eric and wife Cynthia Goodmundson of Winnipeg; daughter Kathryn and husband Donald Cobb of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Dana and Kristen Goodmundson, Heather, Brian and wife Nadine Cobb, and sister-in-law Lara Nichol of Foam Lake, Saskatchewan. Anna was a loving and patient wife, mother and amma. She quietly accepted whatever life threw at her, from her hearing loss early in life, to raising four active children (five if you count Ed), to coping with the limitations that old age brought on. Mom loved to play cards and Scrabble. She was a wonderful cook and baker, turning out dozens of cookies and vinatartas. Anna and Ed spent many happy summers at their cottage in Loni Beach, a magnet for the gathering of family and friends. Mom loved to travel and enjoyed her trips to California and Florida, as well as visiting Saskatoon and Toronto as often as possible. Mom was a longtime member of the First Lutheran Church Women and the Arden House Senior's Club enjoying the social contact and always willing to pitch in and help out. We will miss her steadfast love and support, her quiet, unassuming sense of humour, and the best chocolate chip cookies you ever tasted. The family would like to thank the staff of Thorvaldson's Care Centre and the special nurses of 4th Floor North at the Victoria General Hospital for the care and comfort they gave to Mom. A Memorial service will be held on Friday, June 8 at 11:00 a.m. at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., entrance on Aubrey Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301 - 352 Donald Street, the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook Street, or the Memorial Fund of First Lutheran Church, 580 Victor Street.
