LUCIEN ALBERT ROY May 31, 1937 - June 4, 2007 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lucien (Lou) Roy after a brief battle with cancer. Lou is survived by his wife Rose (Roschuck); and his three sons, Albert, his wife Debra and their children, Alysia, Mason and Jacob; Ronnie, his wife Monica and their child Daytona; and Gary, his wife Susan and their children, Shelby and Nathan. Also mourning his loss are Lou's siblings, Evenlyn (Frank Wallach), Laurent, Maurice (Lavern), Beatrice (Charles Wallach), Jeannette, Hubert (Claira), Phillip (Eva), Freddy (Tap), and numerous nieces and nephews. Lou was predeceased by his parents Edward and Josephine Roy; his brothers, Paul, Andrew, his wife Susan; and sister-in-law Betty. Lou was born in Carman, MB, but grew up in the Fisher Branch area, where he spent much of his early life working on the family farm. When he left the farm in his early teens, he went up to Northern Manitoba to work as a lumberjack. After marrying Rose in 1964, they moved to Winnipeg where Lou was employed at Falcon Machinery for a number of years. Lou then moved on to work with Triple R Metal Fabrication until his retirement in 2003. As Lou's family grew, a move to the Clandeboye area provided Lou with some of the peace and quiet that country life has to offer. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed spending time in the garden, tinkering around the yard, and hunting. Lou's greatest joys came when his grandchildren came to visit - it always put a smile on his face, and chocolate chip cookies in their hands. The family wishes to thank the guys at Triple R for taking time out of their busy schedules to make Lou's last days a little brighter. We know he enjoyed your visits. A big thank-you to the staff of Teulon Hunter Memorial and the staff of Health Sciences Centre, GD6 and MICU for all your care and kindness. Prayers will be held on Friday, June 8 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 9 at 1:00 p.m. with Rosary and visitation starting at 12:30 p.m. at St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church, Petersfield, MB. Interment will follow in St. Anne's Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lou's memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
