Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFEIKE (DUTCHY) BUMA Feike Buma (Dutchy), aged 72 years, passed away Monday, June 4, 2007, at Dauphin Regional Hospital in Dauphin, Manitoba. Feike was born in Hemelum, Friesland, Netherlands. Dad came to Canada when he was 19. He made his way across the country to Alberta to catch up with a friend from back home. Dad eventually settled in Winnipeg where he met his bride, Irene. Dad worked as a bricklayer for many years in Winnipeg and surrounding area. In the early years Dad worked as a milkman for Royal Dairies during the winter layoffs. When he had enough of bricklaying, Dad worked another 10 years for Gainers before retiring out to Tall Timber Lodge with Mom in 1997. Dad enjoyed many activities over the years. He liked curling, Belgian Bowling, fishing, horseshoes, and a couple of beers now and then. Dad shared 43 years of his life with Mom until her passing in October 1998. Feike will be sadly missed by his children, Debbie (Jon) Kristjanson, Rose Gendreau, George (Donna) Buma, Sharon Jerome, Denise (Tim) Slocombe; his grandchildren, Sherri and Cory Tower, Lisa, Erin, Rachel and Michael Gendreau, Ryan Buma, David and Amy Jerome, Emily and Jaxon Slocombe; his brothers, Tjeerd (Hotske) Buma and family, Auke Buma, Louw Buma in the Netherlands Feike was predeceased by his wife Irene; his granddaughter Nicole Buma, and his son-in-law Maurice Gendreau. At Dad's request there will be no service. Cremation has taken place. A private family interment will take place at a later date. If family and friends so desire. a donation may be made in Dad's memory to the Children's Wish Foundation of Canada, Manitoba Chapter, 350 St. Mary Ave., Winnipeg, Manitoba R3C 3J2.
