Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPATRICIA WARRENCHUK PAT WARREN (nee CHOMYSHYN) September 21, 1923 - June 5, 2007 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia (Pat) Warrenchuk on Tuesday, June 5 at St. Boniface Hospital. She leaves to mourn Peter, her loving husband of 61 years, and her three children, Greg (Marilyn), Gayle (Earl), and David (Sigrid). She had four grandchildren, Hilary, Cole, Kiprian and Christie who will also miss her deeply. She is also survived by three sisters, Tina, Marge and Frances, and one brother, Greg. She was predeceased by one brother Walter. She will also be remembered by the Warrenchuk family, as well as her adopted family Richard, Sylvia, Sonya and Ola. Pat was a wonderful wife, mother, and Baba. She took great pleasure in cooking for her family and many happy memories were spent in her kitchen. Her first words when we would walk in the door would be, Have you eaten? She was also an accomplished seamstress with an eye for perfection, and many family members and friends have a special outfit sewn by her, whether it be for a wedding, graduation, or special event. But her true love was for her grandchildren around which her world revolved. She would drop everything as soon as they walked in the door to play a game of Yahtzee or have a special chat, with a broad smile on her face. When not involved with family or the church, once a week you could find Pat at the VLT machines at the track. She always said, I don't drink or smoke, so I can spend my money on the slots . She also loved her holidays and believed that the holiday started as soon as she was in the car. Pat and Peter traveled extensively in Canada and the United States (especially Las Vegas), with two trips to Europe including a pilgrimage to Ukraine to meet her long lost relatives. Pat devoted her life to the Ukrainian Catholic Women's League. From 1954 up to the week of her death, her opinions were greatly valued. During this time, she served as the President of St. Josephat's and St. Basil's Churches, as well as serving two terms as the regional president. She was also the Archeparchial (provincial) president and sat on the National Executive. She was made an honorary life member of the Women's League as a result of her work on a five week workshop for catechism instructors. She was very proud of the letter that she received from the Pope in recognition of her workshop. Her involvement with the church lasted until her final days, as she was asked to be a guest speaker at the 50th Anniversary of the Ukrainian Catholic Women's League in May 2007. Prayers will be said on Sunday, June 10 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Basil's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 202 Harcourt Ave. Divine Liturgy will be officiated by Father Isadore and Father Ernie Hafichuk at the church on Monday, June 11 at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stained Glass Fund at St. Basil's Church. Vichnaya Pamyat Arrangements entrusted to: Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 885-9715
