MARJORIE ANNE GAZAN (LECAINE) ZITKA ZI WIN Marjorie Anne Gazan (nee LeCaine) passed away with quiet dignity at the Grace Hospice on May 26, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer. Left to mourn her passing are her husband and soul mate of 46 years, Abraham (Albert) Gazan; daughters, Gina (Ken) Carradine, Sarah (Leslie) Gazan and Leah Gazan; grandchildren, Brenna, Liam, Kaya, Jakob and Hannah; sisters, Betty Michalski, Liz (Jeff) Roger, Barbara (Bill) McLean, Laurie (Ralph) LeCaine; brother Leonard Wharren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Adopted family Connie Weipert and family, Felix Walker and family and Madeline (Wellington) Spence. Marjorie was born on January 19, 1936 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. She began her career as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse in Weyburn, Saskatchewan later to receive her Masters in Social Work from the University of Manitoba. Her work in Mental Health, research, training and in improving the lives of Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal children and families has been nationally and internationally recognized. A woman of the heart, Marjorie was a beautiful wife and mother. Her strength, warmth and love touched the lives of her family who love and cherish her. No words can fully describe the unconditional and nurturing love she gave to her husband, children, grandchildren and others who came to know her. Those who knew Marjorie loved her gentle spirit, quiet wisdom, honesty, kindness and strong sense of values. We would like to thank the staff of the WRHA, CancerCare Manitoba and the Grace Hospice for the tremendous care and compassion demonstrated towards our wife, mother and Kunsi during her illness. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 15 at 11:00 a.m. in Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Cancer Care Manitoba and the Grace Hospice.
