Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTEENIE (TINA) WIENS December 6, 1927 - June 8, 2007 Born to John and Dora Smoley in Walkleyburg, MB, amidst difficult times, she was the youngest of seven children. Tina spent her early years on the family farm until moving to Winnipeg. While working at a diner she met and then married Henry (Hank) B. Wiens (he always said it was the toast and jam that kept him coming back). They became a family with the arrivals of their two children, Bonnie and Rob. Tina's main passion was her family and the home she so lovingly tended, both inside and out. Her green thumb produced beautiful flower and vegetable gardens. She was a seamstress extraordinaire . Homemade soups were her specialty. Card games during visits with family and friends were a favorite pastime. The family grew when Glen Freeman became a son in law, who loved and was loved as a son. The next generation, grandchildren Matthew and Lisa, were her pride and joy. Her love was unconditional and given freely. Tina also enjoyed her many trips to Vancouver Island to visit her son. There they shared their love of nature on their many adventures together. After the untimely passing of her beloved husband Hank of 44 years, much of her time was spent enjoying quality time with her family, devotedly caring for her sister, having a cup of coffee at Timmies with friends, or at Church. As a wife, mother, grandmother, relative, or friend, she gave in abundance with a great appreciation for the ties of family and friendship. Tina, affectionately referred to as The Ukraine Train by her grandchildren, has reached her station. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of her life on Wednesday, June 13, 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the family residence, 31 Jupiter Bay. Should you desire, in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The Heart and Stroke Foundation. Don't think we're far apart. For every time you think of me I'm right here in your heart.
