ERNEST CRUMB It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather Ernest on June 8, 2007 at Beausejour Hospital. He was 93 years of age. Ernie was predeceased by his parents, George and Sophia; brother Almanson (Allie). He is survived by his wife of 60 years Mary; children, Gary (Pat) and their son Sean, Norman (Debra) and their children, Barbie and Darryl. Ernie was born at Union Point, Manitoba. In the early 1930's he and his family settled in Ostenfeld, Manitoba and started Crumb's Transfer. He served with the Canadian Army during the Second World War after which he returned to the family transfer business. He met Mary and in 1947 they were married. They settled in Ostenfeld where their son Gary was born. Later they moved to Winnipeg where he worked for General Auto Parts and their second son Norman was born. In 1955 Ernie and Mary purchased a farm in Anola where he spent many enjoyable years working his fields. In 1974 he suffered a heart attack which prompted him to retire from his job and enabled him to move permanently to his beloved farm in Anola. His family settled close to the farm which allowed him to spend many happy years surrounded by those he loved while pursuing his passion of farming. The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Garth Campbell, the nurses and staff of Beausejour Hospital for their compassionate care of Ernie in his last weeks. In lieu of flowers donations in Ernie's memory may be made to the charity of one's choice. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2007, 10:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home. Interment and reception to follow. Pallbearers will be Darryl Crumb, Sean Crumb, Norman Crumb, David Crumb, Ralph Crumb, and Derek King. Arrangements entrusted to: Glen Eden Funeral Home 4477 Main St. 338-7111
