JANET HUTCHISON EASTON
Date of Passing: Jun 09, 2007
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJANET HUTCHISON EASTON They saw you getting tired when a cure was not to be, and put their arms around you and whispered, Come to me. On June 9, 2007, Janet joined her parents Harry and Dorothy Easton, four brothers and one sister who died in infancy, her grandparents and her aunts Marguerite and Kathleen. What a welcoming committee that must have been! Janet was born with health issues that made her survival uncertain. She was a fighter then, and she remained a fighter throughout this final illness. We feel that it was her caregivers that made her want to stay as long as she did: the staff at CancerCare, Concordia Hospital, Grace Hospital, Tache Centre and lastly St. Boniface Hospital - they were all kind and caring and thoughtful. This kindness extended to the family is much appreciated. We would also like to thank Bonnie Mitchelson and her assistant Kim, who fought through red tape with us. Janet enjoyed life with gusto. She loved astronomy and could name all the galaxies and constellations, and anything to do with horses got her total attention. She loved to travel, and everyone she met became her immediate new best friend. She leaves to remember her sisters, Joan McConachy (Patti, John and Monica Malbasa, Terri, Darcy, Bob and Jessie Fraser, Jeff, Donna, Jared and Robin Goring) and Rosemary Unrau (Annette Easton and Charles Wong); as well as cousins, Guyanne Chaddock in Thompson and Mickey Hill and Marguerite Walters in California. Sincere thanks to Pat and Kathi and Valorie and many other friends here and online who were unfailingly kind to her and offered support to the family. We also appreciate the calls from passengers of Dorothy Easton's Canada Tours and Breakaway Tours expressing their concern. No formal service will be held. A private interment of ashes will be held at a later date. The family would prefer no flowers, but a donation to the Winnipeg Humane Society reflecting her deep love of animals would be appreciated by them and by us.
