WALTER DUDRAK Peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, Walter Dudrak, aged 87 years, passed away on June 9, 2007, with his wife Helen at his side. Left to mourn his passing his wife Helen, with whom he celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary; sons Bruce (Daphne), Timothy, Dennis, Sidney, and Kenneth (Billie); daughter Gayel (Jerry Bodnarchuk); grandchildren Maxine (Dave), Gillian, Harlan, Colton, Braedon and great-grandchild Dillon; his sisters Eleanor and Betty, as well as his coffee partners and good friends. Walter was born on the family farm in Kruzberg (Now Fraserwood) on March 28, 1919, to his immigrant parents Maxim and Tatyanna Dmochowski, who came to Canada from Chochleva in Europe. He was a proud father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, cousin and a good friend to many. His parents and sisters Ann, Olga and Thelma predeceased him. Walter attended school in the community, worked on the family farm, spent some time in the army, then back to farm until his father's passing. Eventually he worked on his own, married Helen Siatecki in 1948 and together they farmed and raised their family. He was a proud farmer, loved to see a clean field and established a fine herd of cattle. He was also a school trustee, a good mechanic and a hardworking member of the Fraserwood Hall. He loved to travel with his wife, friends and family, venturing to Alaska, East to West Coast, Hawaii, Las Vegas, and up to Churchill. He retired with his wife and built a home in Gimli, where he lived until his passing. At this time, the family would like to thank, Dr. R. C. Patel for the many years of care, Margeurite his homecare nurse, Brenda, Dr. Glazerson, to Father Kamath for his visits, as well to all the other visitors and those who helped us. Funeral mass will be held at St. Michaels Roman Catholic Church in Gimli on Friday, June 15 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Kamath officiating. Burial will take place at the Fraserwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Anthony Hendricks, Glen Nicoll, John Jawotik, Marvin Siatecki, Boniface Prystupa, and Jerry Hayduk. Honorary pallbearers are his children and grandchildren. Daddy Happy Father's Day. No flowers please; if anyone wishes, they may make a donation to the Fraserwood Hall in Walter's Memory. Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli in care of arrangements.
