Born: Oct 20, 1920
Date of Passing: Jun 10, 2007
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHELEN WYSOCKI October 20, 1920 - June 10, 2007 Early Sunday morning June 10, 2007 at St. Joseph's Residence, our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away at the age of 86. She has gone on to meet all those she loved who predeceased her. We are at peace knowing that she is free from suffering and is now in a better place. Mom was predeceased by our dad Stefan in 1990; her parents and two sisters in the Ukraine. Her memory will be forever cherished by her children: Walter, Steffie (Ron), Mary (Michael), Tony (Permina); grandchildren: Deon (Laureen), Paula (Andrey), Krista, Tara, Jason, Adam, Justine and great-grandchild Braydon. She is also survived by her sister Anastasia in the Ukraine and cousins in Winnipeg, Yorkton and the USA. Mom was born October 20, 1920 to parents Teresa and Michael Jaworski in Western Ukraine. Mom and Dad married in Germany in 1946 and immigrated along with baby Walter to Canada, arriving November 1948. They eventually settled in Winnipeg, where they raised their family. Our mother endured many struggles in her lifetime but persevered with a smile on her face and a quiet determination to face the many challenges she encountered. She truly was a gentle soul. Mom was happiest being wife, mother and grandmother. Her motto was if her family was healthy and happy, she was happy. Her home was a revolving door for friends and relatives to stop and have a chat, or a meal and a place for all the grandchildren to just hang out! In her early years she enjoyed gardening, cooking up batches of perogies, cabbage rolls and borscht and never ending walking with her faithful dog Lucky. The last six years of mom's life were spent at St. Joseph's Residence, where she struggled with dementia. We are forever grateful to the staff of St. Joseph's for the compassionate care and love given to our mother. Mamma Helen was blessed to have such angels caring for her. We would also like to thank Drs. Gorski and Shane for their kindness and care of our mother. Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, June 14 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Interment to follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery with reception to follow at Cropo Funeral Chapel. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Mom's memory to St. Joseph's Residence, 1149 Leila Ave, Winnipeg, R2P 1S6 or to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, R3C 4G2. Momma and Grandma, you are forever remembered and loved in our hearts. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
