Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMERVIN (SONNY) MARYKUCA Merv Marykuca was born February 2, 1934 and passed from this life on June 8, 2007. Merv leaves to cherish his beloved memory his dear son Steven (Tricia); brothers, Ben (Louise), Ed (Cecile), and Peter (Cecily); brother-in-law John; many beloved nieces and nephews, and many others loved and cherished. He was predeceased by his wife Jane; mother Anne; father Stephan; sister Lil; sisters-in-law, Luba and Natalie; and brother-in-law Peter. Merv was born in Winnipeg to parents Stephan and Anne. Growing up, Dad greatly enjoyed his childhood with the company of his sister and brothers. He married the love of his life, Jane Bailley, in 1959 and they had many wonderful years together. He worked as a machinist for the City of Winnipeg for over 40 years. He took great pride in his work and enjoyed using his mechanical skills to help others. During his retirement, Dad greatly enjoyed the time shared with his niece K, and with his best friend Gordie. Dad's passions included his cars, reading, dogs and cats, and spending time with those he loved. Prayers will be said at 7:00 p.m. on Friday June 15 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main Street, in Winnipeg. Funeral services at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, at Korban Funeral Chapel, Fr. N. Yakiwchuk officiating. Interment to follow at Holy Family Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearer will be brother Ben Marykuca Pallbearers will be Peter Marykuca, Ed Marykuca, Ron Marykuca, Gordie Steels, Gary Bailley, and Tom Cowell. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or Canadian Diabetes Association His love and laughter will be so greatly missed. May God grant him eternal rest.
