Born: May 25, 1931
Date of Passing: Jun 12, 2007
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARJORIE MAY SIGURDSON (nee SEAVER) May 25, 1931 to June 12, 2007 It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Marjorie May Sigurdson on June 12, 2007 at the Tiger Hills Health Centre in Treherne, MB. With her family at her side, Mom closed her eyes one last time after a very lengthy, but courageous battle with kidney disease and it's complications. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, son Herb (Betty); daughter Margaret-Anne (Greg) Carels; daughter Emily Hyrich; son Thomas (David Guppy); daughter Barbara (Brad) Cnudde and special niece Norma Jean (Doug) Guthrie; nine grandchildren, Kerri-Ann (Neil) L'Heureux, Patricia (Darcey) Zander, Tamara (Clinton) Rempel, Thalia (Myles) Enstrom, Mitcheal (Jamie) Carels, Jesse (Jessica) Carels, Christa Hyrich (Shawn) Eaton, Dustin Hyrich, Abigail Cnudde; and great-nephew Kyle (Shannon) Guthrie and 11 great-grandchildren; brothers Jim (Kay) Seaver, Henry (Sarah) Seaver; sister Betty (Bob) Duncan; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mom was predeceased by her parents, Henry (Ted) and Laura Seaver; her son Timothy in 1977; her husband Simon in 1978 and sister Barbara in 1981. Mom was born in Winnipeg, raised in Cypress River, MB. She grew up on the family farm and retained her love of the prairies throughout her life. She married Simon Sigurdson in 1952, and together they raised seven children. They started out on dad's farm and in 1956 they moved into Cypress River. Mom was also a foster mother to many children over the years, opening our home to those who needed support and care. She had a love of plants and gardening. Mom enjoyed sewing and quilting, sharing her work with many of us. Mom was a very loving grandmother who provided many happy memories for all her grandchildren. They will always remember spending time at grandma's little house where they had many happy sleep overs. Mom would want us to give a special mention to Matthew and Andrew Johnson, two special little guys that she was Nana to during their preschool years. Mom held her brothers, sisters and their families close and dear, the thread that bound them all together. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all the nurses who cared for Mom during her hospitalizations and to Dr. Vorster for his care of mom over the years. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish to, donations may be made to the Tiger Hills Health Centre or to the Skalholt Cemetery Fund in moms name. A celebration of mom's life will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2007 in the Cypress River United Church, Cypress River, MB. with a luncheon in the Cypress River Memorial Hall. Interment to follow at the Skalholt Cemetery. Jamieson Funeral Service of Baldur-Glenboro in care of arrangements, 1-204-827-2480
